*Report on Several Arrests: Yashar Darolshafa, Bahar Tarakameh, and Others


Yashar Darolshafa was arrested on the night of February 3, 2010 at his Tehran home, after it was raided. His current whereabouts are unknown. Darolshafa is completing a Master’s degree in social welfare studies at the University of Tehran. Yashar Darolshafa is a leftist student activist and the former secretary of a reformist student organization at the International Qazvin University. Darolshafa was previously arrested on November 4th, 2009 and detained in Evin for 20 days.

25 year old Bahar Tarakameh, was arrested two nights ago. She is the sister of Ardavan Terakameh who was arrested on Ashura (December 27, 2009). Their father is Younes Terakameh, a fiction writer and critic. Ardavan Terakameh is a film student and writer of several documentaries.

Mahin Fahimi and several of her guests were arrested from her home on the night of Ashura. Fahimi is a member of Mothers for Peace. Mahin Fahimi’s son Omid Montazeri was arrested on December 28, 2009. Omid Montazeri’s father, Hamid Montazeri, was a political prisoner who was executed by the regime in 1988 (or 1989, depending on the month of his birth). Omid Montazeri was arrested upon his arrival at the tracking office of the Ministry of Information to obtain information on the arrest of his mother and his friend Ardavan Terakameh.
