Gohardasht Prisoners Not Allowed to See Families

Gohardasht Prisoners Not Allowed to See Families

On Wednesday February 17, 2010, family members of prisoners in Gohardasht prison referred to the prison’s office to request a visit with their loved ones. As a response, they were treated with disrespect and rudely thrown out of the office.

One of the mothers who has not seen her son in months was not allowed to visit him this time either. She said, “I asked one of the prison guards about my son and he told me that my son was bad mouthing a lot, so he ended up in solitary confinement, and he should hold his tongue if he wants to avoid a good beating.”

It should be mentioned that the prison authorities have prevented any kind of telephone or direct contact between the prisoners and their families, and no food package is allowed to be sent to prisoners.
