Mahdieh Golroo’s physical condition has worsened in Evin after being repeatedly denied medical help by prison officials.
RAHANA Prisoners’ Rights Unit – Mahdieh Golroo’s family who visited with her in Evin today, said she looked weak and ill during the visit. Golroo has lost 12 kilograms of weight and is suffering from the flu. She is also suffering from an intestinal infection since a month ago.
According to a RAHANA reporter, Golroo told her family that she was visited by the prison medical chief who told her there was nothing urgent about her condition that requires a transfer to the prison’s clinic.
Mahdieh Golroo has been detained since December 3, 2009 (editor’s note: the HRDAI report states the date of arrest as December 2, 2009), along with her husband Vahid Lalipour.
