CHRR Members Granted Prison Visits

CHRR Members Granted Prison Visits

Committee of Human Rights Reporters - A number of detained members of the Committee of Human Rights Reporters were granted visits with their families. Currently, six CHRR members are detained in Evin Prison.

According to CHRR, during the visit, Koohyar Goodarzi told his mother that he is still being interrogated and he is not anticipating release any time soon. Goodarzi has been charged with “acting against national security” for interviews he gave to foreign media. He has also been charged with “Moharebeh” (waging war against God). Goodarzi is currently under pressure to accept the false charges.

Mehrdad Rahimi complained to his family about the uncertainty of his situation. Over the past few weeks, the human rights activist has been constantly pressured to make a televised false confession. Rahimi has refused, claiming his arrest is illegal.

Saeed Haeri also had his family visit him. His expired temporary detention order has not been renewed or changed to a bail order. Despite this, he remains in prison.

During Shiva Nazar Ahari’s visit with her family, she informed them that she has been transferred to a cell shared with another detainee. Shiva was confined in a solitary cell for more than 60 days and also spent a few days in a very small, cage-like cell before being transferred.

Saeed Jalalifar and Saeed Kalanaki have been detained in Evin for more than 90 days. Reports indicate that Saeed Kalanaki’s detention order has been renewed and Saeed Jalalifar has been charged with “propaganda against the system.”
