In recent waves of arrest, the Islamic Republic has detained a number of female human rights and political activists, fearing they will be linked to the people`s movement.
Iran News Agency: Maryam Mirzaei who was released from Evin Prison on February 6, 2010 announced the names of a number of female political prisoners who are detained in Evin Prison. According to Mirzaei, the following women have been subject to interrogation and court trials:
Marzieh Khodabakhsh, Samira Khodabakhsh, Sogol Hajimobin, Mitra Ghasemi, Bahar Keshani, Masoomeh Rakhsha, Simin Valikhani, Mahnaz Talebi, Niloofar Babakhani, Anahita Sabur, Samira Sajoodi, Mehri Shapouri, Masoomeh Fatallahi, Fatemeh Rahnamah, Parvaneh Maddah, Fatemeh Vahab.
