Suspension and Expulsion for University of Tehran Victims

June 2009: University of Tehran dorm room after burned down by regime forces

RAHANA – Reports from the University of Tehran suggest that the university’s disciplinary committee and its sub-committees have handed expulsion and suspension orders to students who were arrested or injured during an attack on the university dormitory following the June presidential election.

According to Iran Green Voice, most of the punished students had to face other disciplinary and restrictive measures in the beginning of the school year, but the recent rulings are more severe.

It appears that the rulings are an initial reaction to the dormitory attack video (broadcast by BBC) which leaked out as a result of rivalries within the security apparatus.
