Qazvin International University students under continuous pressure

Qazvin International University students under continuous pressure

Committee of Human Rights Reporters (CHRR)- It has been two months since the arrest of Qazvin International University student Arsalan Abadi. He is currently in custody and has not had the right to a lawyer or to make a phone call.

After the arrest, security forces raided his fiancee’s house and searched her belongings, arrested her, and held her in Evin prison for 17 days. His two sisters were also detained in recent weeks.

Following the continuous pressure put on Qazvin International University students, Daniel Keranian, a friend of Arsalan Abadi, was also arrested on February 9th. He is currently in ward 8 of Rajai Shahr Prison, and he is being mentally tortured to accept the accusations made against him.

It seems like Arsalan Abadi’s fiancee and family members were arrested just to pressure him to confess to the accusations. Arsalan Abadi was arrested on December 27, 2009 (on the day of Ashura), before the start of demonstrations.
