Saeed Jalalifar’s first meeting with his family/ Koohyar Goodarzi’s first phone call

Committee of Human Rights Repoters- On Thursday January 7, 2010, Saeed Jalalifar, a member of CHRR met with his family for the first time after 40 days.

The 24 year old human rights activist met with his parents for 15 minutes. He expressed that his condition in prison is good and he is able to read books and watch television.

Saeed Jalalifar, a defender of street children, was arrested on November 30, 2009 by security forces after he left his home. The human rights activist has been deprived of his studies as a physics major at the University of Zanjan.

Reports indicate that Koohyar Goodarzi, another member of CHRR, was able to contact his family yesterday after 19 days. He mentioned in their phone conversation that he has been detained to give “explanations to clear ambiguities.”

Koohyar Goodarzi, a journalist and human rights activist, was arrested on December 20, 2009 along with Shiva Nazar Ahari and Saeed Haeri, two other members of CHRR.

Currently seven members of CHRR are detained by security forces: Shiva Nazar Ahari, Koohyar Goodarzi, Saeed Jalalifar, Parisa Kakaee, Saeed Kalanaki, Saeed Haeri, and Mehrdad Rahimi.
