Isa Khan Hatami and Sasan Bahman Abadi Remain in Prison / No word on Yashar Akbari



Committee of Human Rights Reporters- Isa Khan Hatami, a member of Iran’s national council front and executive secretary for democracy and human rights, was detained by security forces on December 29, 2009. Currently he is being held in section 209 of Evin Prison. There are no updates on his condition.

The family of political activist Yashar Akbari has expressed concern over his current situation. After leaving his home on December 29, 2009, Yashar Akbari has not returned. His family’s efforts to get information on his whereabouts have been unsuccessful. Considering the wave of arrests of political and civil activists, the probability of him also being detained is high.

Sasan Bahman Abadi, an engineer and political activist, was able to speak to his family over the phone on Sunday January 3, 2010. He informed them that he is being held in section 209 of Evin Prison.
