Saeed Haeri’s Phone Call after 18 days

Saeed Haeri’s Phone Call after 18 days

Committee of Human Rights Reporters – Saeed Haeri, a student activist and member of CHRR who was arrested on Saturday December 20, 2009 (along with Koohyar Goodarzi and Shiva Nazar Ahari), phoned his family for the first time on January 6, 2010 at 11:00pm.

According to his family, he was in good spirits. He said to his mother and father (who are also his attorneys) that they have no legal reason to detain him and he will be released soon hopefully.

Saeed Haeri stated long interrogations as the reason for not being able to contact his family for so long. He mentioned that he is sharing a cell with a journalist and five other students from the University of Tehran.

Saeed Haeri is a student activist who has written many articles about children, worker, and student rights. He was also a member of the committee to defend the rights of citizenship in Mehdi Karoubi’s recent presidential campaign. He is also the secretary of the Association of Science and Philosophy in Islamic Azad University, north branch of Tehran.
